MicroBlading

What are Microblading?

Microblading also known as Eyebrow Embroidery is a form of semi-permanent makeup. This procedure is done by a hand held tool with ultra fine needles which then etch in each 'hair' gently into the skin. Which is what creates the natural and realistic looking brow.

Who would benefit from Microblading?

If your brows are patchy or uneven then Microblading is perfect for you. Microblading can dramatically cover up any patches you may have in your brows or thicken out any sparse areas. However you will also benefit from Microblading if you have thick brows already, as Microblading can enhance the brows you already have.

How long does it take?

For your first session of Microblading it takes up to 2.5 hours so you're best to set aside some time the day of your appointment. During this time I will measure your face and draw out a brow shape that compliments your face shape. Then a colour will be chosen to suit your hair colour and skin tone.

How long does it last?

Microblading pigments aren't implanted as deep into the skin as a traditional tattoo, therefore they will fade in time. However depending on your skin type, lifestyle and how well you follow the aftercare, Microblading lasts between 12-18 months that is after you've had your 6 week top up.

What is the healing process?

Your brows may be dry, itchy, tender, red or irritated after having them initially done. This is 100% normal. Your brows will be darker at first but begin to soften up typically within 3-30 days. Then they will start to scab DO NOT PICK. It is vital you don't pick these scabs as you can damage your skin and affect the Microblading. Your brows will then lighten up as they are healing. It takes around 14 days for your brows to heal over. After these 14 days you can now apply makeup to your brows if needed whilst waiting for your top up.

Is a touch up necessary?

Yes, Microblading is a two part process so having a top up after 6 weeks is essential. The colour of your brows will fade from 10% to 50% or more. So at the touch up is when I will fine tune any area that has faded too much. Also adding in more hair stokes if needed. Healing is specific to each client.

Can I have my touch up before 6 weeks?

Your touch up cannot be done before 6 weeks as the pigment has not fully settled into the skin and you're still in the healing process.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes, you'd need a patch test 48 hours prior to the procedure.

How much is it?

Microblading costs £200 which includes your top up 6 weeks later.

What happens before my appointment?

Before your appointment I offer a free consultation. Talking you through the process of Microblading and what brow shape you are after and what I would think works best for your face shape. I will also ask you to fill out a consultation form to ensure you are suitable to have Microblading and also any other questions or queries you may have.

Prior to your appointment clients are advised to:

  • Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, Fish Oil, Coumadin or Vitamin E  unless medically necessary, 48-72 hours before your appointment. Paracetamol is fine.
  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine the day before & prior to your appointment, this will minimise any bleeding or swelling after procedure.
  • Avoid self tanning or using a sunbed so I can assess your natural skin tone.
  • Clients are welcome to come with their brows drawn in how you like them.
  • No sun 30 days prior to your appointment.
  • Do not workout the day of the procedure as body heat expands the pores
  • You have to be off Accutane for 1 year
  • When choosing a colour I would recommend to go lighter until I see the healed results, as you can always go darker on your touch up. You cannot go lighter.

Aftercare:

The correct aftercare procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. If this is comprised in any way this will affect your healed results.

  • Absolutely no water, sun, sweating, exercise or exertion of any kind prior or after procedure for 2 weeks. No sun 30 days prior or 30 days after.
  • No makeup, lotions, pencil etc for 14 days after procedure.
  • Avoid scrubbing the treated area for at least 1 month.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face during the 1st-14th day after the procedure.
  • Do not have a tan/sunburn on your face prior to your touch up procedure. The tan will exfoliate taking the colour with it.
  • The sun will heal your brows darker than expected.
  • Smoking will cause the pigment to fade prematurely and anaesthetics will not last as long.
  • No swimming until the area is completely healed salt water/chlorine will cause the pigment to fade or change in colour. It is recommended to apply Vaseline to your brows prior to swimming after they have healed to prevent the salt water/chlorine from penetrating the area.
